Molly
I haven’t blogged for a few days because we’d been busy. First off, it was my husband’s birthday and we celebrated on it and then Sunday his 92 year old Mom had a birthday party for him.
Also on Sunday, I had to take my laundry to my brothers to dry it because my dryer decided to break down on me. It stopped tumbling. Someone is coming to look at it today. I hope it can be fixed if not we’ll have to get a new one.
And then yesterday we received a phone call from the Vet with news that we didn’t want to hear. Our 8 1/2 year old Flat Coat Retriever – Newfoundland mix has a carcinoma (skin cancer tumor) on her back leg, up near her groin area.
He said that this is a fast growing, aggressive type of cancer. It hadn’t been there during her annual checkup a few weeks ago.
Last week, we took her in to have a fatty tumor removed and that was when he found it.
Next Tuesday I have to have her to the Vet’s office to have it removed. He will stage it then. After that, we will know our options.
Hopefully he will be able to remove it all and she won’t need any further surgeries or chemo and / or radiation.
Our dogs are like family to us, so this news is heart breaking.
I will keep you updated on her as we find out things about it.
